Business Goal

Definition

Business goal is a desired state of the business domain. Goals can be subdivided into operational, tactical and strategic.

Strategic

The highest intentional goal of an organisation is called business mission. Usually, the mission can be divided in several strategic business goals.

Operational (Tactical) Goals

Operational goals are intended states of the business environment which can be reached by execution of business processes. The operational goals are measurable. The corresponding value is called Key Performance Indicator (KPI). The degree of fulfillment of operational goals reflects the performance of the business processes.
